Switch with a small pilot.
Move three to five websites first, compare the results with your current tool, then import the rest. Your old monitoring keeps running until you are sure.
How to switch
- 01
Pilot with a few websites
Pick three to five websites that matter, ideally one that had an outage recently. Add them by hand or as a short URL list and connect one alert channel.
- 02
Run both side by side
Leave your current tool on for 48 to 72 hours. In that time you see a few patterns and a test alert arrive, and you can still decide within the same week. You can also switch sooner.
- 03
Import the rest
Export your list as CSV from the old tool or start from our template. Before anything is created, the import shows a preview with clients, intervals and alert assignment; up to 500 websites at a time.
- 04
Switch alerts over
Send a test alert per channel and confirm that it arrived where it should. Then turn off the alerts in your old tool.
What the import covers
The import creates new monitors from a CSV file or a URL list. Nothing is read from your old account.
Imported
- MonitorsURL, name, check type (HTTP, ping, TCP, DNS), interval, regions, keyword, expected status, method, redirects
- Clientsassigned per row; missing clients can be created during the import
- Settingstags as metadata, confirmation and recovery periods, monitor groups
- Channel assignmentexisting alert plans and alert channels, by name or ID
Not imported
- Check history and uptime figuresup4 starts measuring with the first check
- Incidents
- Status pages and their subscribersyou set the status page up in up4
- Credentials for channels and integrationsyou connect each channel once in up4; the import only assigns it
A pilot can run on the €9 starting credit: up to 50 monitors and 20 scheduled jobs, no card. With light use the credit lasts about three months at the €3 monthly minimum; heavier use ends it sooner. The import shows the expected usage before it creates anything.
